LCPF Press Release
The 2012 Lyon County Pheasants Forever (LCPF) Guns & Cash Raffle Tickets are now available for purchase from chapter members for just $20.00; proceeds of the raffle go to support the chapter’s general fund which will cover expenses such as general operations, habitat improvement projects and youth programs in Lyon County and the surrounding area.
This year’s Guns & Cash Raffle showcases a wide variety of firearms along with five cash sums, with the total value of all twenty prizes estimated at over $7,500. From the high-end Benelli Vinci 12 gauge to a reliable plinker in the form of a Ruger 10/22, there’s a gun up for grabs that will draw the interest of everyone. Cash Prizes of $200, $300, $400, $500 and $1,000 will also be awarded to five lucky raffle entrants. Prizes can be viewed by clicking here.
The drawing of raffle winners will occur at LCPF’s Annual Spring Banquet on Saturday, March 10, 2012 at KB’s Bar and Grille in Ghent at the end of the event. The prizes will be drawn in the specific order as listed on the ticket and entrants need not be present to win. Only 1,000 tickets for this raffle are being sold and tickets are already going fast.
“The Guns & Cash Raffle is very popular, and we fully expect tickets to sell out quickly,” said Bill Cowden, LCPF Gun Buyer and coordinator of the raffle, “with this many great prizes, the raffle is a big draw and the funds it will raise will go a long way in financing the chapter’s events and projects in the coming year,” he continued.
This year, tickets can be purchased in person from members of LCPF selling them in the community, or at the gun counter in Borch’s Sporting Goods in Marshall, Running’s Farm and Fleet in Marshall, or at the service desk at County Fair Grocery in Marshall. A ticket receipt stub will be provided to all entrants with their entry number. The firearms in this year’s raffle cover all pursuits – deer and varmint rifles, upland guns and waterfowl guns - the models are pictured in the flyer below.
Group & Individual Incentives Set for Early Sell-Out
By a unanimous vote, the executive committee of LCPF passed a motion at its Oct. 5, 2011 meeting whereby if all 1,000 Guns & Cash Raffle Tickets are sold by Jan. 31, 2012, every individual selling at least 10 tickets will be invited to free trap shooting, a social hour and steak dinner at Shooters Sporting Clays in Feb. 2012, courtesy of LCPF.
“This is a great incentive for the chapter to get these tickets sold out early,” said LCPF Treasurer, Ron Prorok, “and if we can sell out early, that gives us more time to focus on Spring Banquet efforts,” he continued.
Furthermore, the committee unanimously passed a motion reinstating a highest seller bonus for the LCPF member who sells the most tickets in October, November, December and January. The motion, made by LCPF Habitat Chair Harvey Noyes, also requires a complete sell-out of tickets by January 31, 2011. The member selling the most tickets in each of those months will be awarded a free Guns & Cash Raffle Ticket if the chapter meets its goal of selling out all tickets by January 31, 2011.
“This way, there’s motivation on a group level and individually,” said Noyes.
To qualify for the individual top seller bonus, members must submit their sold ticket stubs and money at the LCPF chapter meetings to be held on Nov. 2, Dec. 7, Jan. 4 and Feb. 1. Tickets can be picked up in books of 10 from Ron Prorok. Updates to the total sales will be posted on the LCPF website after each chapter meeting to keep members current with how many tickets have been sold, and how many more are needed to reach the chapter’s early sell-out goal to trigger the group and individual incentives.
