LCPF Press Release
In preparation for the 2012 Governor’s Pheasant Hunt in October, Lyon County Pheasants Forever (LCPF) is reaching out to area landowners who may be willing to grant access to hunters involved in the event.
The Governor’s Pheasant Hunt, which will take place Oct. 12-13 in the Marshall area, will showcase the many hunting, recreational and community opportunities that the broader area has to offer visitors. Gov. Mark Dayton will lead governmental leaders, dignitaries and celebrity hunters who will participate in the event, drawing media attention from across the Midwest.
Ideal lands for the Governor’s Pheasant Opener include those that consist primarily of grasslands or wetlands that support huntable pheasant populations.
Landowners involved with the event will be given a commemorative package and tickets to attend functions throughout the Governor’s Pheasant Opener.
The event is being coordinated by Explore Minnesota Tourism, Minnesota Department of Natural Resources, Marshall Chamber and Convention and Visitor’s Bureau, and LCPF.
LCPF will post updates on the event on this website and at www.facebook.com/lyoncountypf.
